Kansas Speedway was Martin Truex Jr.’s 7^th win of the season. But the race was not without its shockers as it eliminated 4 from the Chase.

Kyle Larson, who has had one of the best years in the field, engine exploded on lap 77 causing him to finish 39^th of 40. He was 3^rd in the Cup Standings going into the race, he did not make it to the Round of 8.

Matt Kenseth, Rickie Stenhouse Jr and Jamie McMurray were also eliminated. Kurt Busch was able to stay in the Chase with a 2^nd place finish and Larson’s misfortune.
