Game 1 Recap
Dodger’s won 3-1 with both pitchers preforming almost flawlessly. Kershaw was as dominate as ever only giving up a home run to Bregman and only 2 other hits for all 7 innings he pitched. He had 11 strikeouts without a single walk. Dallas Keuchel also pitched very well. He only walked one and struck out 3 only allow 6 hits through 6.2 innings. The three runs by the Dodgers were on two home runs and a walk. The Astros defense did an excellent job turning the double play 3 times to eliminate baserunners.

Pitchers:
Rich Hill vs Justin Verlander
Verlander’s resume is only matched by Kershaw’s in this series. He has 3 World Series starts, the most of any pitcher this year (although he is 0-3 in his starts) He won the MVP in 2011 as well as the Cy Young that year. He is a 6 time All-Star. He won the ERA title in 2011 (2.4) and the Strikeout Title in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016.
Rich Hill
Hill is 12-8 on the season with a regular season ERA of 3.32. He has had 2 starts in the postseason this year and earned 2 wins. He’s only allowed 3 runs on 6 hits with 4 walks. But with Verlander facing off against him, 3 runs could be all the Astros need to secure the win.
Keys to the Game:
How dominant will Verlander be? Can he keep the Dodgers offense to less than 3 runs? Can he make it through 6 innings?
Can the Houston Astros string some hits together to put up crooked numbers against Hill?
Even if the Astros can go into the second half of the game with the lead, can they rely on their bullpen to hold it for them?
