Game 6 Preview

Houston leads series 3-2

Houston can clinch their first World Series with a win today. They have all the momentum and Justin Verlander on the mound. Verlander will take on Rich Hill in a Game 2 rematch [For both pitcher’s stats click here and for the recap of Game 2 click here].

Justin Verlander is 10-0 since being traded to the Houston Astros with a 1.53 ERA. Astros 3rd basemen Alex Bregman summed up the Astros feelings about Game 6 like this, “We’ve got Justin Verlander going for us in two days.” And they should be confident with that. But the Dodgers were feeling pretty much the same two days ago when they put Clayton Kershaw on the mound and this is how he fared.

For the Dodgers they are going to have to get to Verlander and Rich Hill and their bullpen hold their own. Dodgers First Basemen Cody Bellinger in his last 7 at bats has 4 hits all for extra bases and 5 RBI’s. He went 0-2 against Verlander in Game 2. Can he hold the momentum and the dynamic Dodgers offense push the series to a Game 7? We’ll find out tonight.

This World Series has been a classic. It would be a sad disappointment for it to end after six games.
