Game 6 World Series Recap
The Dodgers beat the Astros 3-1 in Game 6. We could not have had a more different Game 6 to Game 5. The starting pitchers went a total of 10.2 innings between them only giving up 3 runs combined and 7 hits. Pitching and defense had their night in the pitchers friendly Dodger Stadium on Halloween evening. Justin Verlander (HOU) threw 93 pitches over 6 innings with 9 strikeouts and only 3 hits. Rich Hill (LAD) went 4.2 innings with only 4 hits and 5 strikeouts.
It was the Dodger offense that was able to make the difference. Taylor, Seager and Pederson were all able to bat a runner in, 2 on Verlander and 1 on Musgrove in relief. The Dodgers bullpen showed up strong holding the highly effective Astros offense to no runs. The tension was high in the 8th inning when the Dodgers brought in Closer Kenley Jansen who has struggled of late with the heart of the Astros line up in the 8th. He shut them down going two innings and throwing only 19 pitches to get the save.
